Speech & Language

2018-19 School Year

Here at the Dunfee School we are striving to "Be Someone's Hero" as we learn to put others first. During Speech & Language Therapy sessions, we will be working toward this goal by increasing our communication skills so we can communicate encouragement and support towards each other.

This year we will be using punch cards as we did last year. Students will have the opportunity to earn a punch on their card  for listening, completing their practice work, and following directions. When their punch cards are full they may earn a privilege such as sitting in my chair during their session or writing on the white board for a few minutes. The 2018-19 school year will be a great year as we learn to put others first.

Here are 3 important things to remember:
1. Your child needs an adult to listen to them practice the speech or language skill on the worksheet that is sent home to prevent the child from practicing the skill incorrectly.
2. After listening to the child practice, the adult listener needs to sign the practice sheet.
3. Have your child return their Speech & Language folder or book to their backpack where it should be stored.
Following these 3 simple rules will put your child ahead of the game! Invent fun ways to practice. I would love to hear how you practice with your child!
If you have questions or concerns please contact me via email at or leave me a message at 609-698-5826 x3011 and I will return your email or call.
I am looking forward to a great year!
